Check out immigrationportal site. In the I-140 section , you will find some experience similar to yours. You might have to submit an educational evaluation to cofirm that what you did id equal to a 4 year degree in US. Also, the requirement in LC would be important. If it says equivalent or foreign equivalent for degree , you will have more luck. Post your question in IP site and someone who is undergoing/has undergone similar situation can guide you better.
Also my personal opinion is if you can reword "BSc+PG diploma from NIIT or across the street computer institute as equivalent to US BS degree" , it might sound better. Afterall most of the folks who might be able to help you better on this may be the across the street ones. Just my opinion.

thats great and PR should be an ongoing thing and for now i can contribute some time towards this. It doesn't have to be expensive either.
I am guessing here but our target is "employment based GC seekers for more contribution towards IV". It is very specific. A newspaper is too general of a medium for such a specific target.
Where can we find them? on a immigration lawyer's website? maybe

This is just one suggestion. I am sure members can come up with several ideas.

Its been just 3 approvals all day...
there has been 3 approvals yes but these are 3 being reported on IV this is just a sample and the population must be much much larger. even if we go very very conservative on this the population should be at least 30~40 times (and I am talking more conservative than an evangelical from the bible belt) so 3 approvals which would be 3*2.2 (GC per primary)* 35 (Population estimate based on the sample) gives us 231 GC's today. now it doesn't seem so bad does it. :)

I am sure some people will not be able to sleep in the night of July 31st :( And USCIS case status online site may be down looking at the fact that all EB2 will not sign out after August 1st, till they get the CRIS email. It seems like the same experience when we used to go to get our exam results. Unusually high heartbeats and a fear of unknown, despite of knowing how we did in the exam. A pass/fail is OK but the worst come when people do not find their roll number in the result sheet. The situation is called WITHHELD, and that's where USCIS is keeping us:eek:

I have been trying to get by AP expedited which is pending for sometime now (as mentioned in the thread earlier). Got a Infopass last Tuesday and they generated a service request - stating that I needed to go to India at the end of this month. Since than - (Wednesday was closed I guess due to Veteran's day) and on Thursday and today i.e. 11/12 and 11/13 there have been LUDs on my case as seen online. This is my third renewal and I don't need any FP I guess, AP renewal should be simple and ideally should take a few mins or maybe half hour for the guy after he opens my file. I am wondering whats happening - LUDs on consecutive days so far, yet the status of the case remains Initial Review.
I am wondering if some of you have had similar experience\observations since many of you were closely monitoring your case status for AP renewal as well. Please share your comments and insight...

Most of us here are trying to hitch a free ride(sadly, myself included) while a small group of dedicated people are trying to acheive the impossible. The least we can do is contribute and/or try to publicize this group in anyway we can. you cannot even guess the amounts of money the anti immigration groups have channeled to their lobbying efforts.
Remember before IV, very few on capital hill had any sense of the problems regarding retrogression...this in itself is a major victory...imho
Before making comments about wam4wam, I think it will be prudent to check the information available.
Also, what is all this fuss about? I didn't log in for a day, and I see a long thread with everyone apparently excited about nothing! The thread was started by this same individual.
If money is needed, say so; there is no need to raise false hopes.

AP got approved today around 7:45am PDT. I had logged in earlier in the morning and status was still "Initial Review", refreshed it a few mins later while working on something else - lo and behold the LUD date had changed to 11/18 and case status had changed to document production or Oath Ceremony....so now I can travel on 11/28.
Thanks to call for their help and comments
When is the receipt date of yours? And which service center is that?
My receipt date is 8/14, and I called to request for expedite last fri, 11/20, and hear nothing yet. I guess i have to reschedule my flight, that sucks.

It could be a winner for Michigan average Joe.
If there is a shortage of H1s there, our 'Joe six pack' will get the job and he will stop going to flip burgers. And the universities will be filled with locals and Michigan will become self sufficient.
I don't think so. High-tech immigrants will start leaving Michigan, no new ones will be coming. Companies will start opening offices in other states to keep high-tech people and closing down local offices laying off the remaining local Joes. Less people will be paying state taxes and state will face more problems. Universities will lose a lot of money, because international students pay 3-4 times more than locals. Today locals have no problems going to their universities. If they don't go today, what will make them go tomorrow? Michigan will be self sufficient like Sahara Desert.
My personal advise would using AC21 and leaving Michigan. Come to California, at least we don't have these problems (yet).

I wish it was wrong. But it seems to be happening, I heard from a friend who owns a company with 100+ consultants. One consultant form other company that he deals with regularly has been turned away in this manner. That guy was returning from indian trip, who had valid documents including client letters and project. The IO's response was that "We don't have shortage of people like you, we don't need you." His passport was stamped as deported. I really feel sorry for these guys. Sorry guys, it is true.

I get this response from the USCIS calculator: Your Expected Date of Adjudication is Aug, 2010.
My priority date is Sept -05, EB3-ROW.
My lawyer says that there is very little chance of me getting greencard within 3 years.
I'm not sure which is correct. Does anyone have an idea?
