I filed 485 by myself on Sep 30, 2005 after my labor was approved on the same day at 10am. I had some help from my lawyers office.
Please note that I am not a lawyer and you should use these instructions at your own risk.
485 Checklist
Six (6) photographs for applicants over 14 and (4) photographs for under 14 years of age
Copy of Marriage Certificate
Birth Certificate OR 2 Affidavits and a certificate of non availability for each applicant
Filing Fees for each applicant ($325 for I 485; $180 for I 765; $170 for I 131; $70 for Fingerprinting). Please issue separate checks for each applicant for each form. *$ 225 for I 485 for children under 14. All Checks made payable to USCIS.

I am not disputing the fact the forum is used to post issues. But check who are all asking the accountability...? People who never donated a dime. How can they expect and question accountability for others money. First they will have to give and ask what happened to their money and how it was spend.

I'll offer 2 other perspectives to look at this
say you did not contribute or did not even vote for the politician who represents your district....do you still demand accountability? why? cause that politician is representing you... whether you like it or not
IV represents a common cause whether the GC seekers like it or not so it should not surprise you when they ask for accountability
As a second perspective
Say you are an investor and a hedge fun manager comes to you with a great investment in a company. Do you blindly trust what the hedge fund manager does with your money or do you want details about the investment and the company?
Nothing wrong with seeking information about the organization you want to invest in
Rather than being mad/frustrated you should be happy about a prospective interested investor!!

send faxes to congress /house...it is in the house where bills get structured.
make sure u add only the SKIL bill...just remove cap for ppl with advanced us degrees...that was the only thing the house had agreed to consider
but everyone on this forum ignored me

i am not saying all i slost...atleast we got some action going amongst the members of this site
it aint rocket science guys....think about it from the lawmakers point of view....would they allow for more immigration frindly reforms now....no way...so be ready to compromise and suggest the ones which are truly benefecial to the US economy....
the bottom line was always...borders secure first..then talk about immigration reforms....
for the coming seasons....we have to push for nothing but the SKIL bill
that is the only bill that has hope

I am a july 20007 filer and I filed I485 on July 25th. My priority date is April 22, 2004 and I was waiting desperatly for approval in August. Yesterday I got an email from standard "Chris" saying that my case has been transferred to California service center. I do not know if it is a good news or a bad one. Does somebody have any insight ? Why would they do that at this stage ?

Can we please analyze and understand why this was removed in the first place? this is a well calculated move on part of both senators, why did they do it in the first place?
The reason I am harping on this, is that in the inception of the problem lies its solution too. If we know exactly why this clause was removed, we can better formulate our strategies around resolving our problem.
There is always a compromise solution in politics, especially if we can potray our value to the American economy and society.
I strongly believe that opposing either bill in its current form will not let us achieve anything. Big corporations who are vocal supporters of immigration reform will support this bill and they are the lifeblood for large election funds.
We need to
1. Convince Senators/Congressmen that the removal of the clause will unduly hurt a community of immgrants benefitting another group. If they really want diversity, they should have country limits in Eb-5 category too.
2. Come up with a reasonable way to distribute extra GCs among all oversubscribed countries (India, China, Mexico) that takes only the Pri date into account.
Our only chance to solve this problem is to propose something that

b. Gives the US govt. a chance to be fair to everyone.

My PD with my previous employer is JUne 2006 and I-140 was approved in August 2006. Since then I have changed the employer and the new employer is in the process of filing PERM again. Would this cut-off date of May 21st 2007 would effect my case. My current employer would be filing a new I-140 at a future date which I don't know at this time.

I have my i140 pending in TSC since Dec'2006. On the USCIS website, it says that they are processing receipt dates till nov13 2006. My RD is dec 11th 2006 and my PD is oct 2006. As the PDs have become current for EB2, can I still file for my I485, even though my i140 is still under process.
