I just got my Indian bank account and thats what I used to transfer the money to..(resident savings account) I never got these account converted to NRE .

i got all the tests and vaccinations done thru my insurance, it took time but saved money. i paid $100 per person for me and my wife for getting the sealed envelope. this is SFO bay area.

Agreed that we are seeing new names on this site only after EB2 dates moved forward. Agreed that not a whole lot of passive viewers contributed to the campaigns. But these consisted of Eb2 as well as EB3. In making a general comment about EB3 community as a whole, would you not agree that you are unintentionally including those who participated. Why do it then?
I would also say that even if quite a few passive viewers have now become active, and they may be venting out a little frustration at the moment, it is a good sign for IV. These new active viewers are our future contributors and should be shown the way rather than shouted at. That is what leadership is about.

With Support of IV I ran a drive to get details of all people whose case was approved and EAD was not yet received. This window ran from 10/27-11/03. After collecting details the list was sent to USCIS for further help and expediting card production for those cases. Eventhough, We are no longer collecting this info, Please post any updates ( if you received a card ) or if you have still problems with receipt of card.
My view after going through this and similar activities earlier unless our community steps up the voice there is no one to help us. Like everyone of us who contacted congressman's office for expediting card production should contact the same people to get us out of this mess. Lets dont wait till 2012 and worry about our EAD Cards again, we should get our GC's by then. Spend atleast 1/2 hour every month or two to meet and greet our lawmakers IV has excellent material, they are very friendly btw...

You are right. In addition if you have a legal representative (attorney), you can request his/her help. If your attorney is member of AILA, he/she can use the Individual Cases Liaison Assistance to send an iquiry to USCIS, but to use this service, your attorney have to prove that they tried to obtain actions using the NCS.
By the way, I am not an Attorney. So, ask your legal representative about this option.

A summary of the bill said the funds would be raised with a 2,000-dollar per visa increase in the price paid by specific companies for non-immigrant "H1B" visas for highly skilled workers or "L" visas for intracompany transfers.
"We're talking about foreign companies that more than half of their employees" are on those visas, said Schumer. "All we're saying is, you're going to have to pay more for those visas."
"This is not going to affect American manufacturing. This is not going to affect American jobs. What it's going to do is hopefully create some vacancies for Americans at some of these higher skilled jobs that these companies -- foreign companies -- are using the visas," he added.

Do you have a lawyer? what is his/her take on this? Did you use a company lawyer? If you are denied due to ability to pay issues, presumably everyone else during the same time period/similar jobs are to be denied too. Have you talked to anyone in your old co. who might have applied in the same time frame?

You are right. When and if there is a enforcement only bill going through both houses of congress as promised by republican leadership today, IV leadership team as well as all of us need to be prepared and have a plan of action ready as to when and how our goals can get included in the bill. Since there is only about 3 weeks left in the congress session and the house majority leader plans to put a bill on president's desk before the election, I guess the time to act is now.

Passport must be current. If passport is close to expiring, you may want to renew keeping in mind that the renewal process must take some time.
I would suggest that you get your passport renewed as it takes only a day and you still have plenty of time.

The House has already passed so-called Voter ID bill by 228:196 and the Senate voted the Border Fence bill by 94:0 which has already been passed by the House. This latter bill is expected to pass the Senate next Monday.
Republican strategists intend to add these bills to the DHS Appropriation Bill which must be passed by the Congress. There is also ongoing movement to add legal immigration bills to the Appropriation Bill. The Republican strategists has reportedly obtained the President's coimmitment to sign the bills once these bills are passed, but such strategies are strongly opposed by the immigration interest groups including AILA and there is a massive lobbying to block such legislation. The Republican strategists also face unexpected internal opposition to such strategy by Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Thad Cochran (R-Mass) who reportedly stated that he would not add any legislaive language onto the spending bills that could slow their progress in the final days before the coming recess.

Would you please tell me your "Receipt Notice" date. Mine is Dec-28. I mailed my application on Dec-17th. I am still waiting for my AP (only 4 days left for my travel).
I may be able to get an idea from your input. Thank you.
If your travel is due to any emergency or an important/urgent purpose, you can go to the local USCIS office with documentation to justify the cause.
My cousin had his AP, it was called something else and was on white paper unlike the normal AP, given to him the same day.

Just remember those of you with teenage children who have not yet applied for adjustment of status, if nothing changes in the employment based system you too could have an aged out child on your hands in the future.
If children are in "Status of Adjustment(I-485)" there are not effected by this aged out issue. What do they need when they go to college?? appreciate some pointers??

Why does anyone have to call USCIS THREE times? Or ask the same question TWELVE times? To hear the same thing again and again? Do you think they'll change the answer? Or do you need reassurance every step of the way...? Be a little mentally strong guys and gals..
I don't think the phone operators that some of our extremely worried and scared friends spoke to, can overrule the decisions made by Director Gonzalez and Secy Chertoff.

I am not disputing the fact the forum is used to post issues. But check who are all asking the accountability...? People who never donated a dime. How can they expect and question accountability for others money. First they will have to give and ask what happened to their money and how it was spend.
I dont want a non-donor come and ask how my donation was spend....
I'll offer 2 other perspectives to look at this
say you did not contribute or did not even vote for the politician who represents your district....do you still demand accountability? why? cause that politician is representing you... whether you like it or not
IV represents a common cause whether the GC seekers like it or not so it should not surprise you when they ask for accountability
As a second perspective
Say you are an investor and a hedge fun manager comes to you with a great investment in a company. Do you blindly trust what the hedge fund manager does with your money or do you want details about the investment and the company?
Nothing wrong with seeking information about the organization you want to invest in
Rather than being mad/frustrated you should be happy about a prospective interested investor!!

Hi all,
My priority date is July 2003. After a long wait of 4 years, my case showed online "certified" on 07/17. My lawyer advised to prepare for all the documents for the I-140/I-485 stage.
But I am becoming very nervous after looking at a few responses here saying, it took over a month to get the hard copy by mail. Could anyone tell me the phone number for Dallas BEC to check on the status of the mail?

Only attorney/HR/your manager can call this center. You cannot call. But you will not get much useful information from them. You may receive ur hard copy in approx 17 days.
