Could you please post one or two talking points specifically for this bill so that members do not confuse it with the other bills out there.
Yes a few important talking points would be useful. My understanding is most of the time calls are taken by someone to note the support of the specific bill number, so calling with bill number and some generic talk may be OK but a targeted talk to point out one or two points by all of us may have more impact.
BTW...I called Delahunt's office. First mentioned HR5882 and used a few generic talking points to request the congressman's support.

For all those who got second CPO mail, here is a glimpse of hope. I called the customer service and they said the card production is complete when I got the second CPO mail. The lady said that the EAD card is mailed when I got the EAD approval mail after the card production mail(sound of head banging to the wall in the background....) I hope to receive the card in the next one week...

Good to see an update from IV with regards to pending 485 cases /FOIA request initiated by IV members / IV. But the huge difference in data made available to public via USCIS Home Page (http://www.uscis.gov) to the one provided via FOIA request is disappointing, though IV has paid for this per my understanding. Since USCIS updated, the data provided to IV is correct, though the one published in their website is different, it is really confusing. Just like the USCIS processing of cases. The data in USCIS website is as of Aug 25, When did IV get the FOIA request provided to them. Is it around the same time, thou the difference is so huge.
Think we probably have to wait until next updates are posted to USCIS website or if IV gets some updates, that is shared in general forums.

lame duck proves that there was only one guy (sessions) who didnt wanna vote for us and it stalled, but now in the senate whr a majority vote counts how imp wud his vote be?

I read other memo about this unit, but I could not find it. Apparently, if your case was rejected by mistake you should return it to that unit. So, ask your Attorney.

I think this needs to be a thread of its own and ideas from this need to go into the CIR bill.
With all focus on provisions that need to get into the CIR bill, we are all forgetting the most important thing, how will USCIS deal with it?
From waiting for our dates to be current, we will now all have current dates but will still be waiting. There needs to be a solution to make sure the agency can deal with the impact of CIR else i really don't see reform happening.
Its all about the execution - thats where the result of reform is seem, if execution is left out, all that was accomplished is politicians have talking points, we have no relief

You will be okay. Don't worry too much. Just submit your paper work and relax! I have the same education like you. i.e 10+3(Eng Diploma)+3(B.Tech)+2(M.Eng). My labor called for MS+0. I got my 1-140 approved last year at NSC under EB2.

believe your understanding of diversity is naive. indians have never been identified as an under-represented group in enginering or computer related professions. nor chinese for that matter. this is true not just when hiring is done, but also when ppl are promoted to top positions like directors.
there are too many indians in these companies at all levels --- yes, at the top as well --- to be considered under-represented.

I know how painful it is to explain our situation to the Attorneys and others.
I spent countless hours going through forums and most posts are about 3 year Bsc/Bcom/BA degree with diploma from NIIT or similar institutions. I only came across three cases like ours. I talked to my attorney for an hour explaining the situation.
Send in both Trustforte evaluation and a letter from university. Although my lawyer seem to think the letter from (Indian)university does not help much and insisted on US evaluation agency equating the Degree we have (STAND ALONE) equal to US bachelor degree, I think it will help.
Did you get a chance to talk to the folks at the university and they agreed to send the letter? Did you attend the engg. at the university college or any other college under this university ?
I sent emails to AICTE and my university about the situation and I am waiting on that.
I was planning on talking to Trustforte folks as well ? How did your call go ? Did they seem understand what you have to say ?

I attended the engg. under a Andhra University college. My transcript shows the degree awarded by Andhra University. I tried calling the Andhra University folks last night, but no one is responding. Fortunately, one of my friends lives in the same city as the University. I requested her help and she promised to go there and request their help in person. I need to wait and see how it goes.
Re: Trustforte, i sent them my RFE letter and all the academic transcripts with the application form. The evaluator called me and he discussed in detail about the RFE. He seems to understood my situation and he said he will do an expanded evaluation by equating my Bachelors degree alone to US Bachelor of Engineering. He also said, he will make sure there are specific wordings in the evaluation by keeping this RFE in mind. I will get this evaluation report by tomorrow.
