At least one reason why we are not clear on what we want : the draft bill is not clearly written!! especially for EB backlog elimination.
We were told by some of the senator's offices that they are getting lots of calls from different organizations. Some of the calls we received from Immigration Voice weren't clear on what they were asking for. We request everyone to use the talking points instead of saying things that is in their mind or talk about own agendas. Only then our phone campaign will be sucessful and help our lobbying effort.

Even I received a screen shot a few months ago. That did not have:
Processing Type, Case Source and Data Entry assigned to
Today I received the screen shot from my employer and found out that following informations are missing:
Processing Type, Case Source and Data Entry assigned to
I would like to know the significance of the above missing informations and does it affect the labor approval process?
In the screen shot, case received date is 01/10/2005 and Case Status is Data Review.
Please let me know if these missing info can have any negative affect my case? And if answer is YES then what should I do?

Welcome Back UN ! what do you mean by 'investigations will start with greencards' ? People with GC's already Approved or with those with pending AOS ? Any reason you see why this is happening !!
Before, nebraska and texas only started doing I-140's; california was picking on decent size companies with greencards. They were starting to deny i-140's stating that company only has short duration jobs and they are not permanent. I saw one company with 35 straight denials that mentioned this as an issue. Thankfully; california stopped doing I-140's.
Put it this way; if H-1b's are being denied because a company doesn't have a "temporary" job then chances are decent that how can a company have a permanent job when it can't even satisfy uscis that they have a temporary job.

we'll see how the direction goes in the coming months.

Interesting idea!!
For argument sake & extend your idea -- they should split Cities, towns and villages. Most of the GCs are consumed by people from cities & towns. If they want to TRUE diversity, they should split GCs cities/towns & villages. :)

So for GC purpose they should split India and China into states of birth as well . Just look at it Uttar Pradesh with a population of 16 crores can become 6th largest country in world on basis of population. Then we have AP, Maharashtra, Gujarat etc. That will automatically increase numbers for all of us and still keep the country limits. Plus it will in true sense bring diversity from these two countries which are right now dominated by few states both in FB and Eb categories. Please dont get angry if you dont like it. Just a wild idea which will perhaps never be implemented but food for thought

I don't have a NRE/NRO/or any other bank account in India. I'm planning to send money this year via Citi Quick Remit service to my parents as a pay back of the loan. If I exceed 10K limit, do I still need to report? Technically, I'm not going to earn any interest on this money.
Again...Whether you get any interest or any income on the money you send to India doesn;t matter..If you have any sort of account on your name and if it is in excess of $10K at ANY GIVEN TIME, then you need to report to IRS...

We dont know USCIS will accept 485 appls between July 2nd filer and july 16th filer.
As per notice on 17th July - They will start from this date to accept application....BUT NOT CLEAR !!! - maybe we are getting this some info related between July 2nd and July 16th filer

I think we have brainstormed enough for few days. So do we have any conclusion? Any ideas? Can we sum up our conslusions?
A lot of us in EB3 are not due to less education or skillset. I am not going the route of blaming anyone. But just to answer point 2 in your response. I had 7 years of exp when my GC was filed. But 3 out of those 7 years were with the same company as contractor and hence had to go EB3 route. Again, just an example that I really do not need to study more or increase skillset etc to jump to EB2. And I totally take the load on myself for sticking with EB3. But I will not let just this be the reason for jumping jobs in this market. That is why I wanted to talk about helping EB3 category as a whole. I am not talking about what each individual has to do to get out of EB3.

That's the right spirit!!! I too feel more at home here than in my home country. Instead of complaining about skin color discrimination, which BTW I faced in my home country too, it is better to focus on the quality of life and personal freedoms we enjoy in the US.
Thats individual perspective.
Skin color discrimination matters more if one is interested in getting into/or is part of senior management, and not so much for entry level/junior level jobs.
One could however accept it as the price for living in this country, & be content with the $$ earnings & 'quality of life'.

I am really thankful to people who replied sincerely and understood the dilemma I have.
Thanks dilbert_cal to point out that it's much more expensive than what I thought of.
And to pineapple, I am very happy to know that you believe in successful upbringing here/in India. Because I always hear about killing by teenager, teenage pregnancy, smoking & drugs consumption ration etc. I think I should not be worried now, because millions of American and Indian are raising their kids perfectly fine.
And to reddog, I think it's a good show off about ur googlish knowledge. And you know what, We can have very good discussion someday about financial terms and theory behind cheap versus expensive labor in different countries, when I am not in a "mother mode".
For lord_labaku, I totally understand your point, and sometimes I feel like taking up a job that is "work-from-home" types. But unfortunately I am also ambitious as everyone of you are. I just don't want to do a job, but build a career. So it's always a tough decision for me....
