I agree with you, the whole purpose of the FOIA was to find out the number of people in the queue to help us figure out the duration of our wait...USCIS releases a report then submits another one and there is no corelation between the PD and the VB....why?
This has been my primary issue with the numbers provided by USCIS. Given the fact that the same number of visas available for Mexico and India (EB3, no spillover) and the fact that the number of applicants before Mexico's cut off date is in the thousands, why was India's PD not moved at all. Something is not right...I am positive that India should not have thousands of cases in consular processing, infact a large number of Latin american cases are CP. Something is wrong... either the data is incorrect or the State Department and USCIS have no communication...something smells rotten somewhere. For the past 2 years or so, Indian EB3 PD has never reached 2002

Do you have an old AP that is valid till Sept 19,2010. If then you are good. The IO has done it right. If you apply for renewal, then they will extend from the expiry of the old one. This was the case for me last 3 times, but this time, the approved on July 11 and made it valid one year from approval date and I lost couple months due to this.

Lets not forget the lesson learned from the last DC rally. We came to a conclusion that unless we strengthen our local state chapters, we won't be successful with these type of rallies. Nothing much has been done to activate the local state chapters. Most of them are as inactive as they were in the past.

To get to this stage where USCIS is hearing constrructive criticism and doing this speaks volumes that IV has come..I am hoping that something can be done for Eb-3 I...we assumed that 2001 -04 people will get releif this year or next ...now that seems to be a pipe dream..;)

Maybe we were unlucky, the SSN letter didn't help us some 5-6 years back. DMV gave us a hard time instead.
That why, one need to go from one desk to other desk, one office to other office. Some of the staffs are not qualified. It is just like we have been coming across even Lawyers not having enough information.
I have 4-5 such instances, few to list:
#1. Related to DL itself
#2. Resident fee for H4
#3. Extent H4 is valid with Univ./Lawyer
etc.

If there is no sub labor, I have no problem with increasing H1Bs. Otherwise increasing H1Bs without increasing EBs is going to be horrible. I have been in the US for over 11 yrs. People who came here in 2002 are getting GCs. Is that fair? Tell me that?
Plus, let me tell you one thing. This forum is not really fighting to get H1Bs increased. I apologize if I said we should try to stop H1Bs. And don't worry, that is not gonna happen.

Until now the Durbin-Grassley amendment has only been proposed when there is some pro-EB amendment also around (recapture/SKILL/increase in quota). This time I dont see any pro-EB amendment... or did I miss one? (the recapture one from Cornyn is already dead)

If you really would like to thank, Just promise you would meet atleast your lawmaker for your GC problems(GC Backlog & IV Action list) through your local state chapter atleast once a month. That would be a real contribution in helping yourself and your community.
bigboy007: I definitely agree with your suggestion and i will do my best to contribute. I plan to letter to Ombudsman and my local congress addressing issue with renewal EAD, delays in GC and impact on us. It may or may not help but every step we take will hopefully help all of us toward the goal. I am new to the IV action list - i plan to spend sometime and contribute as much as i can.
