Just google Germany transit visa and AP. There are postings on immigration forums way back to 2006. It is not a new issue as some one mentioned.
It seems AP was not listed as valid document. But many people traveled with out any issues it seems with A.P.
Could anybody faced any issues at Frankfurt without Transit visa?
Please share your experience if you traveled these days through Frankfurt
Issues if any, will be faced at the checking-in counter, not in Frankfurt. Airlines check-in agents can stop you at the airport if they start asking for a transit visa for AP holders. Though it seems they have not been asking for a transit visa till now, you never know when they are going to start asking for it. Any number of experiences from others is not going to help anyone......It all depends on what they will do on the day of your travel.....As far as the guidelines, an AP holder needs a transit visa, period......So its upto you to decide whether you would like to take that risk or get a transit visa and have peace of mind.....

there is nothing to panic here.... and please dont flood the USCIS with phone calls again again... let them do the job...

Guys , when i called up today for I-485 petitions for USCIS i was little bit worried when first officer informed me of the process and she explained why we are not receiving receipt numbers.
But after 20 min long discussion with her i was little worried and thus want to share this info for your comments.
As per her" USCIS will wait for all 485 petitions , and assign them visa numbers as per availability , she told me that they exhausted all visa numbers on june 26 2007. and they are going to receive all unused numbers on aug 17 and will assign accordingly for all cases who are considered for adjudication.
If they run out of visa numbers again during this process they will return applications saying apply after October 2007.
After going though i couldnt believe myself and i called them back to enquire about the same. another officer told me the same that this is the update they have. If this is the case is USCIS really accepting or playing with us ? i dont understand at all. Out of curiocity again i asked my friend and he reported same info. I dont want to rise panic flag with this info but just share and request your comments. please.

May be we can all discuss the ifs and buts in a group meeting. In the same token, please do not throw off the work done by people in Washington with negative rhetoric. All of us are in this and contributing to IV, knowing full well that IV may or may not succeed. This is not a business proposition. Look at it as more of an awareness campaign for our issues. It all depends on the Senate and Congress to work out a solution to our grievances in a bipartisan manner. And we can definitely help there by meeting them locally and stressing out our needs and explaining our problems.

Today I entered the website to check my husband's case status in Dallas BEC and it says AS USUAL: Status: "IN PROCESS" but there is an extra field before it: "RIR" and below it says

Is anyone seeing today this extra field, or does this mean that finally they are looking into my Husband's case?

I guess what I am saying is that people like me who are on 9th yr H1 extension won't be able to get any more extns unless my application was being processed under the current system. Once they make my GC application which I started in July 2002, invalid due to some arbitrary date if and when the law passes in the summer this year, I dont think I can stay in this country legally as an H1B holder until the new point system kicks in Oct 2008.
Does that answer you question as to why I am freaking out?

Yes, I do report the intrest earned from that around $16.00 a year.
Of course that does not exempt you from reporting income or bank interest on that money in your 1040 if you are a "US person".
Remember, all US persons must report income from all sources worldwide .
Unfortunately no one can hide from IRS in Timbuktu ! Also all international wire transfers are monitored on the SWIFT network by the CIA and forwarded to IRS if they think it is suspicious.

What did you enter your travel date as on the AP application? My husband and I applied for AP on same day, but he is travelling about 10 days before me. He got his AP in mail last week and I got mine approved online today.

Does anyone have the email IDS of all these consulates in the USA?
This way I could send emails to all of them one shot, rather than going to their website and sending it one at a time.

Please review the response to RFE(if they let you to) before they send it out just so you can catch if there are things that don't seem right. But as I said before, if you can get Trustforte say that equality statement, you should be good. Don't loose sleep over it (I know it is easier said than done :) ).

My being on H1 has nothing to do with you tryin to bring a Nanny, I am not on a Nanny visa or am I? Can i be your nanny at $65 an hour? jeez.
If you are trying to bring a Nanny to pay her $1000 a month plus airfare and 6 months of vacation and admit her to a local college for education and groundwork with your lawyer to complete the process, go ahead and do it.
I would still say it would be illegal. or you can try to ger borderline legal.
1) If you want to help that person, sponsor her or her childrens education. You are not helping anyone by sponsoring an underpaid worker. How would you feel, if your employer asks you to work for $20K a year just cos you did not have any other opportunity?
2) Sponsor the kid, do some good work. without exploitation.
3) If you want someone to understand your culture, you belong where your culture belongs, right in the very mother-land where you come from, cultures dont get exported out.
4) What you are tryin to do is illegal too, more illegal than the so called illegal you are talking about.
India is a country of a billion people, and you are trying to tell me the story of a downtrodden or a poor soul. and what are you trying to do to help?

If your kid gets sent back from the day-care bcos he sneezes, hire a nanny.
She will take care of the kid at home, and believe me, nannies do moderate house work too, alojng with taking care of the sneezing kid, also does dishes, does the laundry and stuff.
Let me introduce you to a term called PPP(purchasing power parity) google it and see why you should not expect to earn something and spend something else.
Believe me, many of us are in the same situation as you are and everyone of us know of some poor person in india who is deperately in need. And we want a solution too, but the one you want, is wrong..

When you are working on H1 here instead of india because you can earn better and when you are taking away job from american citizen....how can you argue like this?
I have many reasons for bringing nanny here....
1) I want a person who is making 100 $ per month to earn more (atleast 1000 $ per month ...right??)
2) If she would come here, she can support her family and some day her boy can come here for study or something....
3) I want somebody who understands my culture and the way i want to raise my kid.
4) I can get somebody from new jersy but mostly i would get illegal migrant...which i am not comfortable with.
Apart from my personal reasons, one simple economic rule, if you can get cheap labor, you don't want to spend more....that's why cos hiring you instead of American citizen,and outsourcing working great....

With all odds working against me, I want peace of mind that my kid is in the safe hand, He is not sent back from certified day care only because he is sick...

In my opinion that might not help. It may even be confusing to the adjudicator. (Again, it is just my opinion , others may disagree)
Second , You may get the admission in to Masters program if you have a degree or combination of degrees equivalent to US bachelor's degree. (Meaning, you can combine previous degrees to prove the qualification to get the admission). Where as in EB2 case and in NSC interpretation of rules it has to be a SINGULAR degree.
As I said your (our) best bet is to Trustforte evaluation equating your (our) degree alone being equal to US degree. Hope this helps.

After making so many phone calls and tons of emails, my attorney now kind of understood about this engineering degree. Hope she formulates the response correctly while sending the RFE response!
